Prom Pretty: Trends of 2015!

Prom is right around the corner, which means we have a lot to talk about! Hair and Makeup and Dress, oh my! Let's read to find out what is trending this season between the runway and the red carpet and how you can replicate the looks!

 Makeup:
No-makeup makeup hit the red carpet with a bang! And the bang was bold lips! Almost all the celebrities sported glowing subtle makeup look paired with lip colors such as bright pink, plum, or coral. I LOVE it! Generally speaking, you shouldn't combine dark eye makeup with dark lip color. It's just too overpowering. But if you do want to go with a smokey eye, remember that doesn't always mean black. You could go with a light brown smokey eye to keep things a little more simple with bold lips. Lastly, I am loving the Coral! It is such a great color for Spring and contrary to what you may think, it complements all skin tones and brightens up the face!
Celebrities at the Oscar's rocking a neutral face with bold lips.  Chrissy Teigen is wearing Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color in Divine Wine. Emma Stone is wearing Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Tulip while JLO looks prom perfect in L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Last Color in Timeless Rose.

Hair:
On the opposite spectrum of "less is more," is the hair trends for Spring of 2015.  Bohmenian style hair is making a come back with effortless looking waves. If this is too boring for you, you can add a watertfall braid to spice things up!

The simple pony tail has recently been super popular both amongst models and celebrities!
Models for Oscar de la Rente wore slicked back high pony tails, while those for Gucci had a looser and lower pony tail look. I personally love the tight pony tails; so clean and really brings out the beauty of the face. Almost all the models on the runway, regardless of the style, had one thing in common - serious length! Put those scissors away ladies. The love for long hair is back and bigger than ever!
(But, I must admit, I LOVE short bobs too!)

Dress:
Setting this trend from the red carpet to the runway, high necklines are totally hot this season! Think chiffon, silk, or tulle covering the neckline with embellishments of rhinestones or the like. Sophisticated colors like  nude, champagne, navy and cranberry are noticeably designer favorites this season. And let me just say, for a girl who has a hard time picking clothes in color other than black, I am loving this! You can really never go wrong with such classy hues!

Nails:
The final touches are always what completes a look! There were two completely different nail polish themes that took over New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015! One is the graphic nail (think negative space, or half moon) and the other is a simple baby-pink manicure. I have always been a fan of clean simple nail polish, so I'm not sure if the graphic nail is a trend that I would try, but it is totally cool! If you have done it, leave a comment below with a picture!
I would love to see it!

To complement designer Delpozo’s colorful Spring/Summer 2015 collection, Julie Kandalec for Essie created a coral negative space half-moon nail that was reminiscent of the sun rising in the spring by using "Tart Deco" and "Matte about You."
